Middleton Firefighters Graduate from Fire Academy Training Class

Chief Frank W. Twiss is pleased to announce the graduation of four Middleton firefighters from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy's Call/Volunteer Firefighting Program. Firefighters Jameson Lockhart, Andrew LeColst, David Kelsen, and John Messer were presented with Certificates of Completion by State Fire Marshall Stephen D. Coan on Thursday, March 5th during a ceremony held at Masconomet Regional High School. These firefighters have devoted the last six months ( and over 200 hours of their time ) training and receiving lectures on basic firefighting principles, and practicing live fire techniques under the supervision of certified Massachusetts firefighting Academy instructors. The training is made possible at no cost to the local communities, and the Academy provides the instructors and materials for the program. Through the generosity of the North Shore Technical High School in Middleton, the facility was made available for the program. In the last two years, eight Middleton Firefighters have completed this intense training program, and have successfully received ( or will in the near future ) their Firefighter level I/II Certification through the Massachusetts Fire Training Council. Chief Twiss reports, "The town is fortunate to have such devoted individuals who have worked hard to complete this difficult program, and we are very proud of their accomplishment."
